Frank Schwalba-Hoth

Frank Schwalba-Hoth studied after graduation and completed military service 1974 to the University of Marburg and presented after the first state exam for teacher training in 1981 from Refendariat.


Except Parliamentary political work, Schwalba-Hoth had already been studying during his politically active and a member of the AStA of the University of Marburg, and in the years 1979/80 President of the Students' Parliament. He was, inter alia, active in initiatives such as the "3rd International Russell Tribunal: The situation of human rights in the Federal Republic of Germany" or the"Information for dissemination of non news".


Schwalba Hoth-1978 was co-founder of the Green List Marburger (GLW) and later theGreens list Hesse (WR). 1980 he was one of the founding members of the party, the Greensand 1981/82 was one of the two national co-chairman and spokesman for the Hesse state board. He was considered representative of the "fundamentalist" wing of the Greens, the so-called Fundis.


From 1 December 1982 until 4 August 1983 he was a member of the Landtag. Particular attention attracted in 1983 the blood-spraying action Schwalba Hoth:

On 3 August 1983 bespritzte during a reception in the Hesse state parliament for the commanders in Hesse stationed U.S. forces stationed in Frankfurt, the U.S. General Paul S. Williams with blood. This action caused a considerable public impact. During the press the action much more predominantly criticized as unworthy, was Schwalba-Hoth from large parts of his party and representatives of the peace movement praise.

European Parliament

From 1984 to 1987 was Schwalba-Hoth Member of the European Parliament, Vice Chairman of the Committee on Petitions and 1986/87 one of the two Co-Chairs Group before it because of the rotation principle resigned.

Political Strategist in Brussels

Since his exit from the European Parliament works Schwalba-Hoth as a consultant andlobbyist in Brussels. He was a longstanding director of the local EU office of Greenpeace.1998 he founded together with Silvana Koch-Mehrin (FDP), the consulting firm Conseiller + Partners, and worked until 2002 for this company. Since 2002 he works as an independent political strategist with a focus on civil society, sustainable development, energy policy, development of the EU and institutional matters. Since 1989 he organizes monthly networking dinners ( "Soirée Internationale"), each with 60 to 80 participants from different professional, cultural, national and social backgrounds. Since 2006 he is member of the Advisory Board of Jakob von Uexküll founded Right Livelihood Foundation, which annually in Stockholm at the beginning of December the so-called alternative Nobel prize awards.

Ronald Barnes

Ronald Barnes is the diplomatic representative of Traditional and Grassroots communities from Alaska and the Traditional Chair and founding member of the Indigenous Peoples and Nations Coalition (IPNC) - an Indigenous non- ECOSOC Non-governmental Organization from Alaska. The IPNC was accredited to the World Conference Against Racism in 2001 and will participate in the Prepcom for the Follow-Up Durban Conference.

Ronald Barnes has participated, intervened, addressed or served as a panel speaker at various United Nations meetings at the Commission on Human Rights (2001-2004), the Sub-Commission on the Promotion and Protection of Human Rights (1999-2004), the Working Group on Indigenous Populations (1999-2004), the Working Group of the Draft United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (1995-2004) and contributed with other United Nations Working Groups and Seminars (1995 - present), the Permanent Forum on Indigenous Issues (2002-2003), the 2001 World Conference Against Racism, the 2002 World Summit on Sustainable Development, the 2003 World Summit on Information Society and has also attended the United Nations Committee on De-colonization (1997).

Ambassador Barnes recently attended ABS 6 and also observed WIPO IGC 10 and 12 with a continuing development of knowledge on the issues and continues to read and update on the issues relating to bio-piracy and developments in climate change and bio-ethics and protected areas.

Ambassador Barnes has recently submitted reports to the Human Rights Committee and the CERD Committee for the implementation reports of the United States of America to the Treaty Bodies. Ambassador Barnes has lobbied officials at the local, state, national and international levels on, inter alia, self-determination, environment and health where he has met diplomats, foreign ministers or Prime Ministers. He has also engaged in media at all levels and with various media on Indigenous Issues.

Ambassador Ronald Barnes is one of the indigenous speakers of the International Symposium on Linguistic Rights (UN, Geneva, 24 April 2008), organized by the World Esperanto Association in collaboration with the Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights and with the NGO liaison office of UNOG.

Barrister Abdul Majid Tramboo

A multilingual person, Majid Tramboo, graduated from the University of Kashmir, received his LLB from the University of Bombay and was called to the Honourable Society of Bar at Lincoln's Inn, London, having successfully completed the examinations conducted through the Council of Legal Education in London.

His distinguished legal career began in 1983 at the Jammu and Kashmir High Court where he practised in conducting civil and criminal litigation. In 1988, he served as in-house Counsel for conducting civil litigation and immigration, asylum and nationality matters, which included appearing before adjudicators and the Immigration Appeal Tribunal for a firm of Solicitors in London.

In 1990 he accepted a position with the United Kingdom Immigration Advisory Service (UKIAS), London, as a Tribunal Counsellor, where he reviewed cases dismissed by adjudicators, settled grounds for leave to appeal and represented appeals before the Immigration Appeal Tribunal. As the Head of Legal Services for Immigration Advisory Service (IAS), London, in 1994. he provided training to the legal staff, this included preparing training manuals and up-to-date, in-house law reports (including commentaries on new rules, regulations and case law). Additionally, he assessed the competence of the legal staff, in terms of the preparation and presentation of cases, which involved intricate points of law before the Immigration Appeal Tribunal, adjudicators and special adjudicators. Barrister Tramboo was the senior partner of the Tramboo Partnership, a London law firm established 1996 that practised exclusively in immigration, asylum, nationality and human rights matters.

Majid Tramboo's profession skills at practising and consulting concentrate on the British Nationality. Immigration and Asylum Law, The Geneva Convention 1952, The Human Rights Act 1998 and the European Convention on Human Rights. International Human Rights Law. International Minorities Rights Law and the Law of Trusts and Charities.

The focus of Barrister Tramboo's legal research is on the British Nationality. Immigration and Asylum Law and The Human Rights Act 1998. the International Law and the International Human Rights Law. He developed his administrative, supervisor, and management expertise through his experience at several different law firms and while at the Immigration Advisory Service.


Barrister Tramboo is a member of;

The Honourable Society of Lincoln's Inn;

The Kashmir Bar Association and;

Office of the Immigration Services Commissioner.
